We are an AMA Chartered Remote Control Airplane Club
Founded in 1966 by six dedicated individuals, the Wausau R/C Sports Club has its origins in a shared passion for building and flying model aircraft. Recognized as an AMA Gold Leader Club, it has developed into a welcoming community, offering members opportunities to participate in events, competitions, and share aviation knowledge. The club has played a key role in promoting the hobby locally, encouraging new generations of model aircraft builders and pilots. Regular meetings and flying sessions continue to strengthen the bond among members and support the growth of R/C aviation in the region.
Wausau R/C Sports is a legal Wisconsin corporation, with members electing a Board of Directors annually. The Board operates the club’s day-to-day business. Local and AMA rules are followed at all times during both recreational and contest flying.

LEARN TO FLY!
Wausau R/C Sports members help new pilots successfully learn how to fly. Every Monday and Tuesday evening throughout the summer is dedicated to new pilot training!
We offer both fixed-wing and multi-copter training courses!
